AU Name: Izzy Hands

AU History: Izzy grew up on the mean streets as a human, trampled underfoot by nearly everyone. Until he grew meaner still. He tried and failed to join gangs of thugs around his own age but he was always either at the bottom or pushed out for being a threat. Then one night at fifteen, half dead from a recent beating, he found a vampire half dead for other reasons. It was hungry and fast but Izzy was faster and killed it and it felt so good he developed a taste for it.
Afterwards he decided to join various groups of very underground vampire hunters, none of them were very good at it and though Izzy was sharply skilled he didn't actually do much killing, mostly because he wasn't stupid enough to call down hell on his head. So he helped get rid of the idiot vampires and spread the group's reputation as being premiere vampire hunters-- that frankly got a lot of them killed. And he grew frustrated with finding no one strong enough to stand up for themselves.
And then when he was twenty he heard about Edward who was an up and coming vampire in the Blue Court. Very up and coming. And Izzy decided that he was going to make a name for himself or die trying and so attacked him in his sleep. Things... did not turn out as expected. Izzy was quickly enthralled to Ed and while he fought it at first, he saw potential there to make Ed great, great in the court, great everywhere, maybe the greatest vampire of all time. So he more or less willingly joined his side in order to help him be the best-- or else. If Ed can't, maybe Izzy can as a vampire. After all it doesn't really matter what you are so long as someone knows your name.
AU Personality: Izzy's personality isn't changed, more it's the dark side of his personality coming through, acerbic and selfish and too ambitious for his own good. He has tender feelings but buried deep because he doesn't trust the world not to bite him in the neck. Unlike canon where he knows what he is (ie a pirate), he has a hard time defining himself or his place here--especially as he's not a thrall nor a vampire but something in between.

He can be fiendish and malicious, all in service of better things (or himself) and thinks that if something doesn't have an edge, if something is too predictable, it's boring and worthless. His own mask is his acerbic personality, hiding the gentler side of himself even from himself because he's terrified of it and what someone might see if they looked beneath the skin.
